Weekend with Great People is Always a Blessing

As soon as the anatomy test was over on friday, my weekend started and I knew it was going to be a great one. I hit the road and drove nonstop to ATL. I met up with Dustin Hsu and carpooled to the housewarming party of the year in honor of Ryan, iFrame, Gilbert, and Wes (although I really haven't met him yet). Eating great/home-cooked food, listening to "Of Monsters and Men", and playing with Swat helped me de-stress. But most importantly, seeing and hanging out with my amazing friends and brothers made the unexciting two-hour drive from Augusta to Atlanta totally worthwhile. I got to see my fellow ex-third floorians (Drew, Alex, and etc). They all look the same even though everyone's life has changed pretty drastically, Drew being a student teacher and Alex working in a real world. Moreover, the three hosts/Theta Xi brothers, Ian, Ryan, and Gilbert, are amazing friends, role models, leaders, and followers of Christ that I am blessed to have in my life. I know for sure that Ian will be the coolest math teacher and that God is going to use him in so many ways. Gilbert. I am so glad that I got to know him more this past semester. I can rely on him and ask him anything whenever I have questions or problems. Everyday, I realize how blessed I am with so many great friends.

Then, the Game Day!! I was so happy to see the white and gold all around the campus. While I was getting the ticket from the ticket office, I took a picture of the street in front of the stadium. I can clearly remember the first game that I went as an undergraduate. Four years have gone by so fast and I miss so much of the college environment. As I was tailgating at the house, I noticed the fall associates waiting to get my signature.. I felt little weird because I have never been in that position. Remembering the new associates' names was a difficult task but I was excited to see so many great associates. I am really looking forward to see what they will do for the fraternity, campus, and city. Being inside the stadium with awesome friends like Noe, Levi, Will, Marcus, Owen, Travis, Nathan, and etc. was so much fun and made GT's loss little bit better.

I also got to experience some blue grass music this weekend with Lee Taylor, Bobby, Jess, and Skip. It was different from what I usually listen but I really enjoyed it. I think I'm actually going to buy some blue grass albums and listen to them while I study. It was so amazing to see the banjo and mandolin players who don't even need any music sheets to play. I wish I can be musically talented as them. Maybe one day, I'll learn how to play a banjo.

Last, I finally got to meet my little little brother, Paul! I had awesome time interviewing and talking about how God has worked in our lives. It is so amazing how older brothers like me learn so much from younger associates like Paul. I hope I was able to express how much Theta Xi has helped me grow as a man and christian during my four years at Tech. Talking to Paul made me realize how much I enjoyed being a big brother to Nathan. I thought I wouldn't to back to Tech too often after I graduate before. But meeting new associates and seeing brothers encouraged me to come as much as possible. I want to get to know all of the associates in the future. Overall, this weekend not only has been the much-needed break from studying but also a reminder of God's blessing in my life.
